Prize winning World War Two novel.

Canadian author Colin McDougall wrote one novel and it won theCanadian Award for fiction. This novel is so well written and constructed it is very hard to put down. The characters are well drawn and real. The war is real too as these Canadian infantry troops battle through Sicily and southern Italy. I highly recommend this sometimes funny but heartbreaking novel and it is hard to believe a writer this talented wrote only one book.
