Tracy Carnes has taken "Chick-Lit" to a new level. This funny, self-effacing story about a modern woman's struggles with her love relationships and health crisis hit home for me as cancer survivor. I found the novel not only inspiring but serious fun. The great dialogue, realistic characters and real-life situations make the novel an engaging read. I'm hoping there'll be a movie version.
Charming, funny, informative

Tracy Carnes debut novel is adorable. It's charming and funny yet quite informative about colitis and the devastating impact it can make on a person's life. However, in it's way, it's inspiring, just like Tracey herself. If you can make it through parental expectations, broken relationships, and crappy jobs, you can make it through anything, even ulcerative colitis.
Debut novel a winner

Tracy Lea Carnes has written a fun, fresh and inspiring first novel about a young woman dealing with relationship and parental issues while also struggling with a debilitating disease, ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Carnes has a sharp ear for dialogue. A lot of it is laugh-out-loud funny. But the novel also deals with relationships, both male-female and daughter-parents, in a realistic and frank way. It's also moving. This is not just "chick-lit." I recommend it for every one.
