A new approach to the subject, based on exciting recent discoveries involving proteins and DNA, the "golden molecule" of heredity. This description may be from another edition of this product.
As a former university chem teacher and one who's graduate work was in biochemistry, I think this book gives a good picture of the odds of the "right proteins" showing up by chance alone. Now what one does with those understandings is a personal matter. I gave it 4-stars b/c it needs up-dating as per some new finds in protein chemistry...but this does not affect the basic argument he presents.
Excellent book on probability

Dr. Coppedge is one of those rare geniuses knowledgable in the subject he is writing about and able also to convey his ideas well to the interested layman. This book is organized such that the general public can read the main text to get his points, while footnotes and appendices are provided for those more knowledgable on the subject. The detailed table of contents provides chapter headings and subheadings for easy reference, and a detailed index increases the usefulness of the book. Subheadings are in italics in the text, and chapter headings appear at the top of the right hand pages. Key illustrations are also provided. One drawback is the fact that a bibliography is not provided, though bibliographical references are provided in footnotes, which is sufficient for most users.Dr. Coppedge is very clear about his purpose for writing the book, that being to "enable the reader to arrive at the certainty that materialistic evolution cannot be true" (p. 33) and to point the reader to the Creator. The bulk of his book is given to doing this by examining protein and DNA molecules in light of the laws of chance (probability) that they came about on their own, which is what one is left with outside of believing in the Creator. This he accomplishes in a clearly written style. The last chapters are devoted to brief descriptions of arguments used by evolutionists and answers used by creationists.Even if one finds themself in the evolutionist camp, this book provides good reading with points to ponder. Those in the creationist camp will find their views strengthened. The book has good value in explaining scientific facts about genes, proteins, DNA and probability. The more we discover about these topics and the greater the complexity we find in life on the cellular level the stronger Dr. Coppedge's arguments on probability become. I highly recommend this book for those on both sides of the evolution-creation debate.
How this book changed my life.

This book explodes the myth of Darwinian evolution on the basis of its profound improbability. I have read many treatises on the subject of evolution. None bring to the table such a simple yet thorough exploration of the subject. Reading this text destroyed my doubts in the Bible's Creation Story. Since reading it, I converted to Christianity and have since become a minister.
