A young woman finds herself at Saint Dymphna's Mental Asylum with suicidal tendencies after finding her boyfriend murdered in his apartment. While there, she explores the trauma that created the fragile young woman who was carted in the doors strapped to a stretcher, her wrists sliced open. Maya tries to mend a terrible childhood while battling the darkness that lurks within. An issue with the hospital staff changes doctors, who then look into the darker side of her psyche. Maya learns she is not alone in her head and that one of the voices may be more dangerous than they thought.
