Eve and Jack Patterson are a professionally successful, happily married couple in their late-20's. Eve is a beautiful free spirit who also enjoys free love. Jack had far less dating experience than Eve, but he enjoys his wife's uninhibited ways and he tries to keep up with her.

Eve's former college dorm mate, Gina Lombardo, and her boyfriend Andre Johnson, a police officer, are introduced. Jack and Eve's lives quickly become deeply intertwined with Gina and Andre as both friends and lovers.
