In utilising a notational poetics as relating to everyday experience, Jake Metcalfe's poems largely take place and serve as homage to the quiet town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, where he spent his first five post-university years and to the city of Bradford where he grew up. It is from among the people and sights of these fertile places that Jake's poems ushered forth like discreet roadside flowers.
