Toltec Wisdom

As a teacher for multicultural studies, this book allows my students to grasp the very core of "The Four Agreements"

The Best for Clarity and Simplicity

I wanted to write this review because I come to this book after 10 years of study and practice in the field. I had never heard of Hardman, though I was an admirer of Ruiz. I read this book with someone who was just beginning to learn about the Toltec way. Both of us found the prose, the ideas, the organization and presentation to be of the highest quality. We also appreciated the use of both the male and female pronouns. Hardman has taken a deep and difficult area of life-changing information and given it lightly and pointedly to the world in such a way that most anyone can use it to the max. Whether you intend to go all the way to freedom, or just use the information to understand your life and the world better, this is the book for you. As you read this book, expect to cry, to get very angry and sometimes anxious. But if you persist with the instructions Hardman lays out so succinctly (along with several case histories), eventually you will begin to breathe easier, increase your awareness and energy, love yourself more, understand others more deeply than you ever thought possible, and ultimately you will discover within yourself more freedom, power, love and joy than you knew existed. This is a book for all stages and levels of awareness and practice. We all need to know at times the next step or be reminded of what we have temporarily forgotten on our way to being a Master of life. What does that feel like? Hardman describes it this way: "The beautiful life lived by the Toltec warrior is always connected to the life force of spirit that is in and through all of creation. The love and happiness that he experiences radiates out from him . . . He sees the beauty of spirit in every person . . . He knows what he wants and doesn't want. . .By staying present in each moment, the warrior embraces his life fully, giving and accepting gifts of abundance that are the nature of spirit." This life is waiting for you now and this book will help you achieve it.

Good book offering a depth psychological perspective

In my view, this is a case of the student surpassing the teacher. I enjoyed this book for its approach to depth psychology and the various archetypes the author employes. The book further offers keen insight on one of the Toltecs most powerful concepts known as the parasite. While the first three chapters contain some judgement (in my view) on shaminsim and indigenous cultures along with various other topics. The author is apparently unaware of his own bias as he argues against these traditions while at the same time purporting that his own tradition is free of the culture from which his own sentiments flow. All points of view adopt a consensus reality including the Toltec tradition. This is particularly recognizable in the Ruiz lineage of the Toltec view. Besides this contradiction, I think the author is fairly free of the parasite, but finds himself sometimes sliping back into its control based on his own personal bias as I've noted above. (But who among us is on the same spiritual level of - say - the Dalia Lama?; not many, I venture, including myself.) With regards to everything that follows Chapter 3, there may be quite a few assumptions operating under the surface, but overall the book provides more insight than bombast. That said, Castaneda still stands alone in my view as offering greater insight into a Path With Heart. Yet, this book still holds some interesting tools for personal transformation.

Easy to read and easy to understand Toltec Wisdom book

This book contains 20 chapters that I feel are well organized. Each chapter is well written using simple language, fairly large print and there is a lot of room to underline or high-lite key concepts that grab you or to make notes in the nice wide margins. It is an interesting read that is enjoyable. Because every chapter has about a half-dozen headings (Each in large green print) it is simple to read a couple of pages, put it down and then come back to the book again later. The format of this whole book makes it easy to read and understand. For example there are many side-bar comments in each chapter which focus on: common questions, important facts, essential tips to understanding, and actions the reader can take. Bottom line: I highly recommend this book to those who want to understand a path to a happier life. The path itself is maybe is not "real easy" but this book is sure easy to read and easy to understand. If you want don't want to change your life then don't bother reading this book since this book is about you changing your way of perceiving. If you want to change then I'm sure you will enjoy this book a lot.

If you really want to understand the Path with Heart...

Allan Hardman is a master of translating the mysterious Toltec Path into concepts that are easy to understand both intellectually and emotionally. This, and all his writings, will help you look at the world in a completely different way. I also encourage you to look at his website [...] for more of his work. Great Work, Allan!
