It is not a waste of money... it is a wise investment

I don't normally do book reviews...but after seeing the review from the reader in DC...I had to respond with a review of my own! Apparently the reviewer knows the parties involved in the book and has decided to come to the table with a vengence against the author. The book is not about who is right or wrong...victim or aggressor. It is about the reader figuring out what they want in life and how to get it. The author shares some of her experiences in an effort to let millions of people know that they are not alone in certain situations, especially making mistakes.Nobody is perfect, everybody makes mistakes. The author admits that she has messed up many times and is very candid about some unpleasant events that may have offended certain people. That is the beauty of the book...IT IS REAL. Don't buy the DC review! Buy the book and find out for yourself...I agree with the good reviews.It is a good book for people of all ages, races and gender! For those people who really are looking to improve themselves, this is the book for you.

This book packs a powerful punch! By accident I happened upon this wonderful reading at my hair salon and couldn't put it down. I subsequently talked the owner into allowing me to take it on a weekend trip to Las Vegas. I was capitivated until the very the last word. Veraunda's life experience is compelling. Her spirit has achieved and maintained a sense of balance and grace in spite of her challenges. This is a must read for anyone with self-doubts.This book will push you towards making your dreams and aspirations reality.It is also a tremendous inspiration for young girls.I ENJOYED THIS BOOK!

When I met Ms. Jackson, I thought she is kinda young to share her life in a book, but I gave her a chance. She teased me with enough of her personal narration to make me buy the book. Well, she is soooo Y-O-U-N-G, but don't let that fool you. As the saying goes, "age ain't nothing but a number and a shoe size." So much for my antiquated notion of experience. As I began reading the book, I felt her personal pains, joys and triumphs. Regardless of where you are in your life, she gives you food for thought and questions to ask youself. Everything really does have a price, the price is not always negative, but a price is paid for all the choice you make. This book reinforced my belief in not putting individuals on a pedestal based on visual materialistic perceptions of success - a career title, car, house, clothes, etc. Read about her price. Visualize the opportunities with EVERY situation in you life. Take action to live her signature statement: "The ultimate goal in life is to be happy with yourself."
