everything follows from this: essays in the UCM

These four essays in the UCM use the model to examine several topics in greater depth than would be possible from any more traditional direction. The first essay lays down a long runway of fundamental concepts in the framework to establish the basis for proving that hierarchies arise spontaneously, not as a result of oppression. Hierarchies are an emergent property of numerous mortality functions operating in social species in environments with unevenly distributed resources. They are a structural, not a political, phenomenon. It is hard to know oneself without knowing something about the various self objects that exist in our mind. All serious models of the self must build on the mind's layered, evolutionary nature. With the articulated UCM model of the self mechanism in hand, we can finally start to understand ourselves and some of our impulses. The radius of truth is the longest and most important essay in this collection. There is a profound difference between local and global truth, but it doesn't stop there. There are at least five concentric radii of truth one must know before one can even begin to understand truth. The differences between each truth ring are not merely theoretical, they are practical in the extreme. The subject matter is difficult enough to warrant several rereadings. The last essay recaps everything that has been said about the purblind defect throughout the Pinnacle series, and then goes on to open entirely new ground in differentiating between evaluation and knowledge cognition. The two different cognition systems are poles apart. This discussion provides the definitive answer to the original question of the series: why haven't we been able to answer any pinnacle questions yet? Readers who grok this material will be able to begin answering the previously unanswerable.
