I'm known by shame, but guilt is my favorite name " Guilt, it said, was a favorite alias, a constant reminder of life's surreal and perverse With those words ringing in my heart's ear, I believed I would never be free my curse Then, just when I was ready to throw in the towel, just when I was ready to quit the game, I received a visit from the One and Only peace bearer, The One with power to defeat my shadow at its game With all my vain efforts finally exhausted, and all my futile power plays at an end, I succumbed to the persuasion of the righteous One; The One who said He would be an eternal friend He spoke to my shadow in a whisper, never raising His voice in a futile tone Then I saw the shadow quiver and disappear from before me. In that single instant, it vanished and was gone Who are You, stranger? Truly, I must thank You. I know my life will never be the same Please tell me who You are that I might repay You "You can't," He said, "but... JESUS is the name "
