Nora's friend Charlie claims that everywhere he went in the universe they asked about her, from the players at a baseball game to the Empress of Jupiter out in space. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I have never seen a group of pre-schoolers so transfixed as when my daughter's teacher shared this book with the class at the end of the term. I had not read this book before but the illustration style was similar to other favorites (e.g. Eric Carle). As the teacher turned the pages, she had the musical & vocal accompaniment playing on a portable radio curtesy of Bob McGrath [of Sesame Street fame]. Right off I recognized his distinctive voice. As the book continued, the kids were encouraged to sing along with the chorus. You can find the Mr. McGrath's version on YouTube by searching under "Everyone Asked About You". I think you will find that it accompanies the book perfectly and the song stays with you for quite some time. GREAT book coupled with a GREAT song!
WHIMSICAL FEEL-GOOD STORY
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
This is an exceptionally delightful childrens book, featuring a small girl named Nora who experiences "all-by-myself" feelings that most children can relate to at one time or another. I particularly liked the book because it is so fanciful and encourages discussion between parents and children. I remembered this book from my childhood and had absolutely no reservations about introducing it to my own daughter, age 4, who adores it. The illustrations, by Sheila White Samton, are whimsical paper collage, featuring exotic scenarios (outerspace, African mountaintop, the ocean floor...) that your child will love. I highly recommend this charming, feel-good storybook to parents with children between the ages of 3-8.
