Pesto is a simple sauce that can transform dishes of all sorts with its bright herbal flavors. The word pesto comes from the Italian word "pestare" which means to pound or crush. We've all had traditional basil pesto but a basic pesto recipe can be transformed with all different varieties of herbs, nuts, and olive oils. How to Use Pesto?
A. Toss with pasta, especially any pasta with texture, this will help the pasta grab the slippery sauce.
B. Add to fresh veggies.
C. Add to eggs before scrambling them.
D. Use as a condiment on sandwiches and wraps, stir some into mayo or by itself.
E. Dip crusty baguette pieces into pesto, my favorite way to enjoy this sauce.
F. Make a dip by stirring into sour cream, yogurt, or cottage cheese.
G. Use it as a sauce for your handmade pizza.
H. Add to buttermilk to make a salad dressing.
