Every Heart Has a Story to Tell

This book is a collection of photos and interviews from my blog, "Hearts of Strangers", which is a photojournalism project about connecting with strangers and encouraging them to share their experiences publicly. I believe this helps them to reduce their shame and also find support and compassion within their communities. The message I am giving is that someone cares, that your life matters, and that just by sharing your story and being who you are you can help someone else-someone you have never met and may never meet.I believe this concept helps us as a society to break down stereotypes and be less judgmental and more compassionate to each other and ourselves. It is my hope that this becomes a tool to help each of us remember that we are not alone, that there is support and there is hope. Changing the world starts with having courage to be vulnerable, with having compassion for ourselves and others, and with establishing meaningful connections with each other. We are all in this together. We can each be someone's hero by sharing our story.
