If I could give this book 10 Stars, I would!

Of all the historical novels I've read, this one leaps to the front of my mind as the most fascinating and memorable. The romance is light, but my goodness the story is something else! Talk about history coming alive!!!! I loved this book, and for another to take its place as my favorite historical, it's going to have to be something beyond good--beyond exceptional. If you read one historical novel this year, this should be that one.

EVERGREEN is a powerful read!

Anyone who believes romance novels are light and fluffy obviously has not read this book. EVERGREEN is romantic but it's also a powerful exploration of the emotions. Gut-wrenching choices, overcoming obstacles--so many constructive and forceful issues are met with dignity and mastered. The historical detail is incorporated into the story with a deft hand. Kudos to Ms. Parr. EVERGREEN is on my keeper shelf--for the duration!
