Some may not understand what Evangelist are called to do but this book will unveil a deeper level of how the evangelist reaps a harvest of souls. When you see an evangelist traveling from nation to nation, church to church, or called on special assignments, they are simply joining the team of co-laborers to help with the incoming harvest. The Bible tells us It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. The most important part is that God makes the seed grow and together we reap the harvest. (1 Corinthians 3:7 NLT)
Collaborative Evangelism can best be defined in 1 Corinthians 3:8-11 NLT. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose (reaping souls). Together, both will be rewarded for their own hard work. We must remember we are together in the fields and we are both God's workers. Together we will plant, build, equip, and establish. Through God's grace we will become expert reapers of the harvest of souls. Lastly, we are laboring in God's fields. We work together with God. Therefore, God gets the glory for the harvest. He can make the ultimate decision on how the foundation is laid and to grant others the opportunity to build on it. This collaboration can be viewed as a specialized Para-ministry who's focus is on non-conventional evangelism, outreach, and chaplaincy services for churches and community-based organizations. Despite which methodology or framework we use to reap the harvest every foundation must be built on Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:8-11 NLT)
