THE book to read to understand evangelical church heritage.

I read this book for a church history class in college, and found it to be one the best books I read while there. It explains in a succinct manner where the evangelical church came from, what it believes, what its importance is for the present and future, and why it is today's "successor" to the orthodox church of church history. Quite readable and very informative in explaining a much talked about but hardly understood church movement.
