Evaluation of humanitarian medicine activities

Our study is a retrospective descriptive study covering four months (April to July 2013) of humanitarian mission in nine health areas of the Niafunk? health district. The outbreak of an armed conflict in the northern region of Mali had caused the massive displacement of populations but also of health personnel. This was followed by the looting and ransacking of the premises. It is in this context that with the obtaining of a financing by the NGO SMARA that doctors and medical students, of which I was a part, intervened to answer the need for health of a part of the population remained on the spot. Malaria remained the most frequent pathology with 5,445 cases, i.e. 23% of the pathologies; severe malaria represented 1,070 cases, i.e. 19.65% of all malaria cases. Diarrheal diseases, respiratory infections and genitourinary diseases were not negligible and represented 12.42%, 12% and 10% respectively. This work is intended to be a reflection draft for the attention of teachers, researchers and students in order to carry out other studies on a national scale for the evaluation of health interventions.
