Evaluation of Gender Equality in Basic Education

Saying that any kind of discrimination based on gender is not allowed means saying that everyone deserves equal respect from the law, from governments and from people in general, regardless of their biological sex, the identity they assume or the social role they play. Considering the interdisciplinary nature of the subject, this work includes discussions on gender inequality in the family and social spheres, sexual violence and stereotypes present in the school environment. It shows that this content has helped to raise adolescents' awareness of the right to equal education as a fundamental tool, indispensable to human development for the full enjoyment of freedom and equality for men and women.
