Among the most important NCDs due to their high morbimortality are cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which have been identified as the leading cause of death in the world population. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to evaluate the overall cardiovascular risk in people aged between 40 and 70 years in the J caro community in the Yaguajay health area during 2019, the sample consisted of 69 people. Sociodemographic variables, risk factors and cardiovascular risk assessment using the Framingham scale were studied. It was found that the most represented age group was 40-50 years old with 55%, the secondary education level prevailed with 52.1% of the population, within the risk factors smoking was the most important, representing 65.2% and that during young adulthood most smokers started the habit, and when measuring the overall cardiovascular risk of the population, it was identified as high.
