Energy efficiency, energy cost, supply problems, climate change tackling and a better exploitation of renewable energy sources are the principal factors for a rational energy policy within the European Union and, concomitantly, the starting point for setting specific targets towards a safer and more competitive energy system. In this book, the entire mechanism of the European Union's energy policy is being meticulously scrutinized, institutions, committees and agencies involved in the energy policy are being rigorously examined, the current situation is being critically analyzed and the future strategy until 2050 is being methodically presented. The author's primary aim is to draw a number of useful conclusions both for the present and the future of the particularly crucial energy issue, in combination with the ongoing economic crisis and the general sociopolitical instability of our time. This book was published in Greek by Historical Quest in 2017. It was translated into English by the author himself in 2019.
