So much better than the movie

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. And the book is so much better. The best part about novelizations is the authors ability to create inner monologues and thoughts that aren't shown (or heard) in the movies. And this book gives you all that. So you see E.T. get frustrated at how primitive our language is, and how much he very much wanted to go home. And above all, his much he absolutely loved Elliot, Michael, and Gertie. This book has a ton of hilarious undertones that were overlooked in the movie. Mary's role in it all is probably my favorite honestly. While I'm sad this book is over, I look forward to the sequel arriving so I can see whatever became of E.T. after the credits of the movie stopped scrolling.

Not Free SF Reader

This is one novelisation I did enjoy quite a bit and read more than once. Kotzwinkle did a reasonable job of somehow taking the amazingly ugly but cute at the same time alien and translating that to print, along with the kids. The D & D scene he threw into the book was fun, as well.

ET Phone Home

This book is a scary book. I want people to read it because it is kind of sad. The best part of this story is the fact that the scary thing gets killed. People should read it to find out how this happened. Reading scary books is something I like to do. Buy this book to read and get some imformation.

for my english class

In the book E.T., there is a view you don't get out of the movie. You get to see what E.T. actually thinks and feels about the world around him. In the very begining of this book, E.T. is with his crew on Earth. You actually find out why, and what the extra terrestrials are doing on Earth. E.T. got lost on Earth in the first place because he was attracted to the lights in the windows, he ended up in Elliots yard because the plants told him to go look in the window. E.T. was a botonist from another planet, and he understands what plants are saying. E.T. is very intelligent and sends dreams and thoughts to Elliot, Mary(Elliot's Mother) Gertie, and Micheal. You also get family history of the characters, and you understand why Elliot connects so easily with E.T. I felt this book was very well written, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Overall, E.T. is a very good book, and is worth reading.
