I used it successfully

I used this book to plot a trajectory in the phase plane. I started by modifying the example program for plotting the square root function on page 252. My only criticism of the book is that the index is too short. To find things I often had to look in the Contents, or just search page by page.

Excellent; with lots and lots of problems for practice.

Unlike a lot of "do it yourself, learn anything in seven easy lessons" books, this book has hundreds of practice problems with solutions provided for about 50%.Personally, I think it could use more problems. Bring on the problems!
