Excellent method - fast, effective, comprehensive

Walter Pauk's methods work, if applied correctly. The Cornell Notetaking System is a very time-efficient study technique; it's very simple but fast and powerful. One of the keys to making it work is to review your notes the way he says at various time intervals (1 hour, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, until the final exam). If you do this kind of review with notes structured as Pauk recommends, you will be amazed at how much you remember.
