Lila and Miguel, a working couple obsessed with money and social status, leave their comfortable life in the city behind and end up stranded in an idyllic seashore town. Although the place was recently ravaged by a terrible drought, there they await Antigua Padilla's arrival, a water diviner, who is said to have the power of calling on the jaguars.

Trapped in an endless timeline, they hear about healers with elephant feet and fire coming out of their mouths, fish that devour eyes, two-faced men, dream flowers, and laws imposed by invisible forces in favor of their dark interests.
