Kamron Armour, an A.I. created from the mind graft of a human from the 21st century, is brought back online 50,000 years later by a human with no name except Man O' War. This "Man O' War" appears, impossibly, to be a friend from the 21st century, somehow, still alive. Kamron, with nowhere else to go, follows this stranger claiming to be a friend, as he provides evidence while the two of them drift, lost in the depths of interstellar space, living and traveling in a bio-organic suit called an EggShell. This suit and the reliance on it is the only thing keeping them both alive.

Neither Kamron or his "old friend" trust each other. What can they do to prove who they are to the other? They find themselves in a sea of space, full of horrifying evolutions of humanity, as Kamron learns what life for a human has become in the far flung future. Both are being chased for what they are, with everything intent to consume them both, as each, in their own way, tries to verify if the other is who they claim to be, or is just doing the same as the rest of humanity.
