ERONEL is a collection of poetry by Lenore J. Gordon.Although many of her poems have been published in magazines, Eronel is her first book of published poetry and represents her works spanning her entire lifetime of experiences. Lenore has always wanted to publish a book but life and love intervened to delay this until nearly her 88th birthday. Lenore's poetry deals with the every day ups and down of love, marriage, family, achievement and heartache. Her work draws inspiration from her favorite poets. She fell in love with poetry at the age of 9 after picking up the works of Countee Cullen and Langston Huges from the Brooklyn Branch library on Eastern Parkway directly across from her elementary school PS 167. The poems captured her imagination with their quick, to the point, understanding of the human heart. From Walt Whitman, Robert Haas, and James Kavanaugh, she learned how poetry can grab the reader's heart with understanding of both freedom of spirit and love of the moment.Lenore's poems strive to emulate those of these inspirational mentors and the lessons she has lived and learned as a mother, wife, professor, TV producer/commentator, political activist and patron of the arts.
