The protagonist is a young man set up to be the fall-guy in a large international money-laundering scheme who, in the process of falling in with a half-crazed, half-brilliant alligator farmer, discovers through adversity that he needs to be true to what speaks to him in his heart and who also eats a meal consisting of defrosted wolf served by a woman who looks like Mother Goose.
