Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) represents a fundamental biological process in which epithelial cells lose their characteristic polarity, intercellular adhesion, and organized architecture, acquiring a mesenchymal phenotype characterized by enhanced motility, invasiveness, and resistance to apoptosis.
