One of the most prevalent and severe neurologic disorders, epilepsy, is still poorly understood in terms of its detailed pathophysiology and, thus, the reason for most of its treatments. Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder that affects 1 in 100 people. Moreover, 10% of children will experience at least one seizure during their lifetime.
