Enzo Cucchi (born in Morro D'Alba, near Ancona, in Italy in 1949) is one of the most important contemporary artists in Italy. Together with Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente and Mimmo Paladino he formed the artistic movement known as Transavanguardia. The series "Pi? vicino alla Luce" ("Closer to the light"), which is composed of 33 frescoes and 33 collages, shows Cucchi's enormous power as a painter.
