Chris and Jasmine met while growing up in the Projects, and with the help of childhood friend Martin Brown, they discover who they are and how they can survive and even thrive with each other's help. The unique friendship forged between the two and Chris's furry buddy carries them into early adulthood. After experiencing a violent trauma, Jazz believes her young life is over. But as only the power of love can do, Chris comes alongside and helps her find the strength to carry on. Much work must be done for Jazz to overcome her devastating trauma. Not only was she affected, but others were deeply impacted by the events. The story, in four parts, is told from four points of view: Jazz, Chris, daughter Ashley, and a man named Reid, perpetrator of the crime that has damaged each in such a profound way. Each character must deal with their own inner struggles in order to find a way up and out of despair, self-harm, and loss of hopes and dreams. This compilation of stories is an intense look at four lives that have been seriously damaged, yet each character will realize reconciliation is a worthy goal to fight for as events come full circle. The tapestry of life continues to be woven into a thing of beauty by the hand of an almighty God. Only such as he can bring the frayed strands of life together to promote healing to the four and restore faith and hope for the future to the lives impacted by human weakness.
