Ens Inferni

As an asteroid explodes in the atmosphere, an EM pulse destroys all electrical equipment worldwide. While this was devastating, the world was trying to repair the damage, when it found out that this asteroid carried a parasitic species that had survived the blast, and prefers human hosts. Frank, just having set up to live off the grid, manages to get by reasonably well for a time, but then, just as he thinks that all is well, he too is confronted with a rapidly evolving species that offers no escape. In time these beings become known as the ens Inferni, or the beings, from hell.
