1995-2005 PADI Specialty Series; Enriched Air Diving. book is new.Aproxl. 8x9", with105 pages. SB. This description may be from another edition of this product.
PADI manuals have a bit of a reputation for skimpy treatment of the subject, and for bad 1980s style haircuts on their models. However, I think the Enriched Air manual is better than average on both scores. The manual is designed for divers who have no familiarity with Nitrox (or enriched air), and takes them very slowly through the relevant steps. The course is much more maths intensive than other diving courses, and clearly the manual has been drafted to try and ensure that no one gets left behind by making too great a leap at any step. Risks associated with diving on Nitrox are treated sensibly and realistically. Of the PADI "speciality course" manuals that I have read (and I have read quite a few), I thought this was certainly one of the better ones, if not actually the best one. And not a single "mullet" haircut to be seen. The manual is usually sold as part of a "crew pack" which also contains a DVD, and Nitrox tables for EANx 32 and EANx 36. Losing the DVD is no great shakes, but if you buy the manual alone, you will either need to get ahold of some tables (easy to download off the internet), or use a Nitrox compatible dive computer.
