Most countries throughout the World are experiencing upheaval. Could it happen in the United States? The story takes place in 2023 and follows the thoughts of an old man in his twilight years. Could the people of this country rise and overthrow the Government. While there is considerable political rhetoric much based on fact If the populous rise are they prepared to confront the Armed Forces? It is widely accepted that the world's largest armed force is the public of the country and when push comes to shove is it possible that the local militia has more men and more arms than the Army itself? There are several confrontations during the course of the story and the President eventually concludes that he must act 'for the people'. Congress thinks otherwise so there is not only the public outrage but now the President cannot rely on support from the elected officials.
