Hard to put down

This is no casual read. Get ready to squirm in your chair and lock yourself in the bathroom to avoid distractions because you won't want to put it down! The first of the book takes you to visit various people who are going about their daily lives, but then the "message" they see/hear sends them on a quest to find out what is going on. Sometimes changing scenes like that can be tricky but I never felt lost and it wasn't too hard to keep up. Henick (Enoch) finds himself in west Texas and has been sent as a messenger from God. He has a message for the whole world, but along the way he is sent to help certain individuals for reasons only he understands (actually, even he doesn't understand all of them). The first guy he helps, Eddie, goes after Henick to find out more about him, but then finds himself in mind-bending situations as he helps Henick along his journey. Mary-Martha Celestine pastors a mega "church" (if you can call it that) called Church of New Revelation, but the "revelations" are all made up from her corrupt mind. She claims to talk to spirits and soon finds out what a dangerous game she is playing when she hears about this "message" going around. This book is full of action and suspense. Henick continues to get himself into situations he may not get out of and has the FCC, the FBI, and Mary-Martha's goons trying to find him. It's a matter of who is going to find him first...and what will they do to him when they do! I won't be getting rid of this book and would love to read more from Gansky. Very intriguing! Enoch shows how God can be working on the bigger picture, but still care about and be very involved in individual lives. It also reminds us that we don't have to know why God wants us to do something, but to trust him and do it anyway.

Thrilling suspense story about spiritual warfare and a message from I AM

Enoch by Alton Gansky was my first experience with this talented writer, and it certainly won't be my last! A strange man shows up in rural Texas without identification or a history, and soon begins touching every life he comes into contact with, including Eddie Feely, an angry young man who's quick with his fists and quicker to get drunk. Contact with this man changes Eddie irrevokably, and he feels compelled to track down the stranger to find out why. The two end up racing across Texas to an unknown destination pursued by the hired goons of a mysterious female religious leader. While the chase goes on, mysterious messages are popping up in all forms of media across the country: movies, television, radio, and newpapers, all pointing to a Messenger. Gansky's story of suspense, faith, and spiritual warfare is intense and impossible to put down. I was up until after midnight last night reading it, and picked it up as soon as my eyes were open this morning! The characters are compelling, but what really moves the plot is how Gansky drops just enough hints to keep you flipping pages without giving away too much or too little. He also shares a powerful message about the dangers of flirting with spirits through mediums as well as listening closely to the message of spiritual leaders and comparing it closely with the Bible to seek the Truth about each message. Gansky has introduced an intriguing list of characters involved with law enforcement in this book, and I hope that they will pop up elsewhere, as they are too interesting to let go with just this one book. I don't want to give away any spoilers for future readers, but I certainly hope they can figure out who Henick is before I did (page 277, and yes, I did smack myself up alongside my head)! Gansky knocks this thriller out of the park!

Amazing read!

Alton Gansky has another hit on his shelf with his latest novel, "Enoch." Based around the Biblical persona who never tasted death, this incredibly suspenseful read is meticulously crafted with a multi-strand plot that finds a common thread in a message from a mysterious herald that appears in various forms to alert the characters to "look for the one I am sending you." Meanwhile, a just-as-mysterious hitchhiker is picked up by a kindly older couple. And does he have some surprises in store for those he encounters. I thoroughly enjoyed this character! Gansky develops him with brilliance. This book made my heart race and took my imagination to surprising places. As I turned each page, the plot twisted and turned and kept me guessing until I devoured the final word. WOW! What a book!

This book captures your full attention on page one and carries you through a fast-paced journey through a story of good versus evil. An unusual message, "Look for the one I AM sending you," stops popping up on TV shows, Movies, Computers, Radio Stations & Newspappers. The message puts fear and confusion in the minds of many. Couldn't put it down

Alton Gansky is the master of on-the-edge, what-if fiction, and this is his best work yet. It features a character based on the Biblical Enoch, the man who didn't die, now returned to earth to deliver a message, a message that gives pause to all who hear it. There's plenty of action, a number of heart-tugging moments, building suspense, and a denouement that kept me reading long after my bedtime. It's rare that I say of a book, "I couldn't put it down," but this is one of those times. The book is doesn't hit the reader over the head with the message of Christianity. It simply makes him think. And, after all, isn't that what books should really do?
