well written, the book is an odd mix of casual comment and informative reporting on many aspects of the maasai culture...the narrative and color photographs imply the author was sincerely devoted to the man she married and to his people, particularly certain children...therefore it comes as a shock, when looking for a sequel or current information, to find a blurb on the internet stating that after this book and its accompanying publicity, the author left the loita hills and had no further contact with any of them...
A brave step

Was a great read. Shows there is a major gap between some cultures no matter people say with relationships and the ways that some people live and their beliefs.
