Of special concern is the poster for their latest effort, The Obelisk Ogres, which look like its suburban couple is being menaced by male members a thousand feet tall. At the same time, a cocktail party up in the hills above Laurel Canyon celebrates the one-millionth birthday of Natalie Lang. The party-goers are the gods of old, legendary names that predate the heydays of Sumer, Egypt, and India. And it seems only natural that those old gods should still be consumed with old conflicts and grievances that date back long before the origins of Man. Add in an ancient vampire, a private detective with amnesia, the ghost of an agent, a convicted actress fresh out of jail, and a Hollywood producer falling in love, and you'll still be only scratching the surface of the improbable events inside.
