English Voodoo: Tales of Zereth
The map broke first.
Across the fractured remains of Britain, four Engines hum beneath the land-vast, invisible systems shaping a near-future dystopian society. They govern Control, Creation, Decay, and Liberation, feeding on memory, devotion, and the quiet compromises people make to survive. Most have learned not to question them.
Zereth is where the questions begin.
Tales of Zereth is a collection of interwoven speculative fiction stories set in a cyberpunk-inflected world where technology, ritual, and power blur into something harder to name. A detective follows a death that leaves no trace. A citizen's watch begins to rewrite reality. An artist sculpts absence. A system begins to answer back.
Each story stands alone. Together, they form a pattern-revealing the hidden architecture beneath modern life, where surveillance, identity, and control operate at a level most never see.
Blending elements of literary science fiction, dystopian fiction, and philosophical fiction, this is not a traditional plot-driven novel, but a system-driven narrative exploring how worlds are shaped, maintained, and quietly enforced.
This is not a story about what happens next.
It is a story about what is already happening.
And the system is already in motion.
