English Language Planning for Visually Impaired

This study aims at investigating and analyzing English language planning for total visually impaired young learners in their specialized schools in Egypt through applying the Mezzo-Model of analysis in education planning presented by Kaplan and Baldauf (1997) in a customized manner to suit the data. It limits itself to the only two schools in Alexandria for visually impaired, due to geographical reasons, focusing on visual impairment only and no other disability. In addition, it tackles elementary level only and it spots the light on English language planning only not any other language planning. The researcher has selectively chosen specific points, not all the items of the model of Kaplan and Baldauf (1997), which are found to be relevant to the data. Was investigated the process of planning English in education for visually impaired in Egypt's schools, piloting school in Alexandria, to touch upon the deficiencies and suggest updated standards contributing in developing this kind of planning. The data is being analyzed based on Kaplan & Baldauf's (1997) mezzo-level model for Language in Education Planning with some modifications to suit the nature of the data.
