English Fairy and Folk Tales

English Fairy and Folk Tales contains sections of hard to find books, which makes it excellent for the price. Here you will find sections from Robert Hunt's, Popular Romances of the West Country (Cornwall). As this is no longer in print and you will probably pay a high price for an original copy of that title, English Fairy and Folk Tales is worth getting for this alone. The book's tales are the usual stories of England and Cornwall, though, nothing obscure or especially unusual and the chapter on witchcraft was disappointingly short. Mostly concerned with the usual tales of ghosts, some good stories of the phantom hounds (i.e. Cheney's Hounds, Dando Dogs, The Barghest), witchcraft, and Fairies. So if you are looking for obscure tales you will probably want to skip it! Once again, it is worth purchasing if you are looking for a cheaper copy of some of the tales from Hunt's, Popular Romances of the West Country.
