This paper reviews the development of a web-based framework for engineering analysis. A one-dimensional, high-speed analysis code called LAPIN was used in this study, but the approach can be generalized to any engineering analysis tool. The web-based framework enables users to store, retrieve, and execute an engineering analysis from a standard web-browser. We review the encapsulation of the engineering data into the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and various design considerations in the storage and retrieval of application data.Schoeffler, James D. and Claus, Russell W.Glenn Research CenterSOFTWARE ENGINEERING; DOCUMENT MARKUP LANGUAGES; PROTOCOL (COMPUTERS); OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING; HIGH SPEED; ENCAPSULATING
