Excellent Source for Examples of Clear & Correct English

I refer to this book often to remind myself of basic grammar rules and clear and correct English useage and writing. It is well written, not anal retentive, and has a great section in the back called the "Dictionary of Common Problems" that covers most of the typical grammar issues the average business writer wants to review. It covers everything including dangling participles, split infinitves, ending sentences with a preposition, who vs. whom, punctuation, compose vs. comprise, imply vs. infer, lie/lay/lain, etc. Great stuff, even though it is not my favorite subject.
A must-read for every engineer and scientist.

I have not read the latest copy, but had the opportunity to attend one of Ms. Melba's seminars on technical writing using her 1977 copyright. Bottom line . . . drop the jargon and stop trying to prove your intelligience. If only everyone understood "What, Why, How, Now What?".
