The Congo River, Africa's second largest, is facing increasing plastic waste pollution, which is affecting the ecosystem and quality of life of riverside communities. This article proposes an innovative entrepreneurial model for the collection, sorting and energy recovery of plastics, specifically adapted to local realities. The methodology adopted combines field surveys, interviews with community players and analysis of existing channels. The results show that integrating local initiatives with energy recovery technologies can significantly reduce plastic pollution while creating economic opportunities for local populations. This model also contributes to the objectives of the World Summit on the Environment and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), by promoting the circular economy and sustainable development.
