Endless December: A Journey in Poems and Haiku
Endless December is a quiet meditation on time, memory, and interior life, unfolding through poems and haiku shaped by the stillness of winter. Moving gently from observation to introspection, the collection traces December as both a season and a psychological landscape-where cold, silence, and light become ways of seeing.
Here, winter is not merely a backdrop but a method. Frost sharpens perception. Snow slows thought. Diminished daylight reveals what brightness often conceals. Each poem is paired with a haiku and a seasonal kigo, distilling experience into its most essential form. Together, these pairings create a dialogue between expansion and compression, between reflection and breath.
Moments of presence, loss, warmth, and renewal unfold with deliberate restraint. A window holds fading light. Footsteps dissolve in snow. Memory returns not as narrative, but as atmosphere. December becomes a threshold month-the suspended space between endings and beginnings-where time seems to pause long enough for deeper listening.
Rooted in mindfulness and philosophical reflection, Endless December explores attention as an ethical and emotional practice. To notice becomes to endure. To endure becomes to hope. In the hush of winter, the collection invites readers to inhabit stillness without fear, to remain in incompletion without urgency.
This is not a book about dramatic transformation. It is about subtle shifts: the warmth beneath cold air, the quiet persistence of light, the interior thaw that begins before the world changes. Through spare language and contemplative imagery, Endless December suggests that even in the longest winter, perception itself becomes a form of renewal.
In the silence of December, nothing ends abruptly. Everything lingers. Everything listens.
