Another way of looking at it

The books purpose and potential benefit when used as a practice is precisely what it says--ending the depression cycle as in no longer having any relapses. Guaranteed or a fit for all persons with depression? No, but nothing existent in the world is. The book is like the endgame when playing chess. The medical community indicates to people that mood disorders cannot be overcome thus brought to an end. In that respect, they are ignorant. Because it is possible be it by purchasing and using this book or skydiving or playing the boardgame Pente. There is not the same way for everyone to overcome this but there is a way.

Comprehensive for a workbook

I found this book helpful it covers several aspects of depression from what it is to how to prevent relapse. There is also a section on medications and how to pick a therapist. This book is not a comprehensive treatise on depression and associated cognitive problems it is more for the person who is looking for help in understanding their depression and other associated conditions. The book is easy to understand, the questions in the workbook help the reader to see their thought process more clearly and then gives suggestions on ways to improve their thinking habits. This workbook can be a useful addition when seeing a therapist and taking medications for depression.
