Now in paperback, the unrivaled comprehensive reference to all areas of molecular life science. Compiled under the guidance of a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, this distinguished volume explains and cross-references nearly 6,000 terms and features more than 600 illustrations, including a full-color section.
As a non-biologist, I have found this vast, square, heavy volume helpful in clarifying many terms encountered in reading in diverse areas related to biology. It is abundantly cross-indexed, which enables the user to explore connections among terms and concepts. It is an excellent supplement for those with an interest in the field. It will not answer all the questions, but it helps.
Encyclopedia of molecular biology the best for me

As a molecular biology student I find this book a very good quick reference. It outlines all the major terms and explains them very well. As far as doing reports and assignments is concerned, for me this has got to be the most valuable starting point. It contains excellent diagrams which are easy to understand and follow. I would recommend this even to a non biologist. Naz Bradford
