He earned a Master of Divinity Degree and the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California. He is a native of Alabama, where he grew up in the home of a pastor. He has a genuine heart for missions and serves on the Board of Centro Shalom, a faith-based ministry in Tijuana, Mexico. He has also traveled internationally on numerous occasions to preach and teach. His hobbies include reading, exercising, and collecting sand dollars and seashells on the beach.
