The real story of Excalibur."--Back cover.
Jody Hedlund has done it again. She has written a book that had me hooked from the first word!! I could not put it down. The story centers around a princess who is in the midst of her betrothal week where she has to chose a husband from a specific group of men. Each man is trying to win her through jousts, tournaments, and other activities. While the princess is having a hard time choosing, a man not her equal comes back into her life and she begins to question her choices and what is best for her or for the kingdom. The story is captivating, the characters so real you almost feel as if you are there with them, and a story that shows God’s love and redemption throughout it. A MUST READ!!!
Stunning medieval YA romance

“God always gives us the exact amount of courage we need to face whatever task he puts before us.”
Jody Hedlund’s YA medieval fiction never fails to draw me into a beautiful world of knights, bravery, and loyalty. The start to this new series, Knights of Brethren, is no exception. Drama and romance as Maxim and Princess Elinor reconnect after a decade of separation is balanced well with action in battle, unforeseen betrayal, and intrigue of trying to figure out how all the puzzle pieces fit together, particularly the role of Sword of Magi. Told from first person perspectives of Maxim and Elinor, this book will pull you deeply into the heart of Norvegia as they work to uphold their beloved kingdom.
I loved Maxim’s keen intelligence and heart for good, even as he battles his own demons and darkness. Elinor’s bravery and compassion are quite endearing. Surprising turns in the plot prime the series for the next book to be released soon, which promises to continue this exciting adventure.
If you enjoy YA romance, you will absolutely love this book. I received the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.
