Cada personaje de la historia es un animal end mico de la selva del Amazonas, y vive en la capa de la selva donde los animales que poco a poco suben las ramas van encontr ndolos. As , la historia de una cadena de accidentes se vuelve un aprendizaje sobre la fauna de ese ecosistema. El final del libro, bellamente ilustrado con im genes s lidas y monocrom ticas, hay una breve explicaci n sobre cada una de las nueve especies animales que aparecen en la historia, entre las que se encuentran el coat , el ocelote, el ibis y el mono aullador.
