If one may dare to call himself a poet, it is only to align himself with the emotions of hope and expression. Many times I deliberately choose a particular point of view when I write because there are always two sides to every story. And in many cases it is the perspective of total idealism that calls to me. For though the things I say may be rooted in hopeless naivety it is the poet who must care about things like hungry and abandoned children. He cannot concern himself with rules and regulations. These things have their place but so does a level of compassion that does not recognize borders, nationalism, patriotism, rank or anything that divides us as human beings.
